Watch out for the World's first ever
Heritage Theme Park based on India! Surabhi Foundation
embarks on a new journey.
The
Surabhi Foundation is creating the Living Heritage Centre
(LHC) - the world's first Heritage Theme Park based on
India, at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The LHC aims at bringing
alive India's cultural heritage in a truly dynamic manner
through a series of dynamic exhibits and rides and is being
set up on a 5 acre space at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai (it will
be part of the larger Central Park being developed by
CIDCO).
On
completion, the Living Heritage Centre will be a unique
cultural hub with a host of exciting interactive exhibits
and rides, based on the themes of India - the Land, People
& Wisdom. Some of the highlights also include a Tribal
Communities & Arts display, a Maharashtra Heritage Wing,
a Mythology & Parables section, a Cinema, Television
& Radio Heritage Museum and a Community Radio station.
There will also be a host of fun-filled outdoor activities,
including a traditional Village Food Court, a World Heritage
Miniature Monuments Walk, and Aquatic Water Displays. The
LHC will also house the Surabhi National Audio-Video
archive, containing more than 15,000 hours of footage on
India. The Centre will host regular film screenings,
seminars, cultural performances and other mobile outreach
activities for the local community.
In
true "Surabhi" style, the Living Heritage Centre aims at
interpreting the past for the future, and creating a truly
memorable experience of India in a single space!
